Doom fans are no doubt looking eagerly ahead to the release of Doom Eternal from id Software, landing on November 22 to bring even more explosive carnage to players, and at QuakeCon's Year of Doom keynote address, executive producer Marty Stratton and creative director Hugo Martin had more details to share on the Battlemode, as you can see in the video below.
This is a multiplayer mode where two player-controlled demons battle another player as the Slayer, using demonic reinforcements to help them, and during the keynote we heard about various playable demons and their abilities, as well as witnessing some fresh gameplay from the sequel. Those who pre-order Doom Eternal via the Slayers Club can also get access to the Rip and Tear Pack, which includes the Doot Revenant Skin to use in Battlemode as well.
The leaked re-releases of legacy Doom titles was also confirmed at QuakeCon too, with 1993's Doom and its sequel Doom II now available on Android, iOS, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, while Doom 3 is only available on PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
Will you be replaying the classic titles?
