Dolph talks about what happened to Drago after Rocky IV

A bit of backstory revealed ahead of Ivan's return.

Action star Dolph Lundgren is set to make his big return as iconic character Ivan Drago (Rocky IV) and this will, of course, be a big part of the main storyline in the upcoming sequel to Creed. In Creed II, Drago's son Viktor challenges Adonis Creed for his world title and once again Rocky stands face-to-face with the man who killed his best friend, Apollo.

If that's enough to get your blood pumping ahead of the movie then we've also got some new details regarding Ivan Drago and what happened to him after Rocky beat him in Rocky IV, with this latest intel coming via movie magazine Empire:

"Basically, my character has been in a living hell since '85 and lost everything," Dolph revealed. "The script reintroduces him as a pretty damaged character, emotionally, and somebody who's suffered a lot physically from a hard life. I can identify with that quite easily. The physical part and the emotional part."

Creed II is due to hit cinemas on November 21 in both the US and the UK.
