Devil May Cry 5 just got a release date at Gamescom, but in Cologne we also got to speak with developers Hideaki Itsuno and Matthew Walker, during which time we asked about how the team are feeling about the project, and how proud they are with what they've done so far.

"Here we are now for Devil May Cry 5, it's been 10 years since Devil May Cry 4, and we have the original Devil May Cry team, a lot of the different members from that team, in Osaka working on the game, and we're really happy with what we made and we think that we've made hopefully the coolest, most stylish Devil May Cry game we can," Itsuno said (translated into English from Japanese).

"We've waited for the right tech to come about to create something that is almost Hollywood-level quality in terms of visuals, but merging that with the proper control response and the proper gameplay and animations that still feel... even though the graphics are realistic, it's still gonna feel like a good, tight action game, and so Itsuno-san thinks that he's most proud of the fact that we've been able to merge those two things and we think we've done a pretty good job."
