Désiré Doué from Paris Saint-Germain has been awarded the Golden Boy Award, handed out by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport to the best male footballer under 21 on European clubs during the calendar year. He succeeds Lamine Yamal from Barcelona, who won last year but cannot win it anymore, as the award is given to a different person every year.

Doué, 20 years old, was named the MVP of the Champions League final scoring a brace. He scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists in 61 games for PSG last season.

The jury picked the PSG star, now injured, from a list of 20 players selected by the Golden Boy Football Benchmark Index (GBFB Index), a tool that takes data from players according to their performances in European clubs, using data like minutes played, performances, transfer activity...

Doué follows Yamal in 2024, Jude Bellingham won in 2023, Gavi in 2022, Pedri in 2021, Haaland in 2020. Previous winners include Mbappé in 2017, Pogba in 2013, Messi in 2005 and Rooney in 2004.

Michelle Agyemang, named Golden Girl

Tuttosport also recognised Michelle Agyemang, the 19-year-old striker from Brighton, now loaned to Arsenal, particularly for her goals during the UEFA Euro 2025, where she scored two late goals in the knock-out that helped England reach the final.

Sadly, Agyemang broke her anterior cruciate ligament during a friendly match for England, and will miss the rest of the season.

This year was the fourth time the Golden Girl award is given. She succeeds Vicky López from Barcelona, Linda Caicedo from Real Madrid, and Jule Brand from Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg.
