Death Stranding leads The Game Awards nominations

The event is returning on December 12, and voting is now open for all categories, ranging from games to content creators and esports.

The Game Awards will be returning on December 12 to round out the year, and all of the nominees have been announced. Kojima Productions' Death Stranding leading the charge with nine nominations, including the coveted Game of the Year category, although it has plenty of competition here.

You can see all the nominees here, and joining Hideo Kojima's game in the GOTY list is Control, Resident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, The Outer Worlds, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, just making the cut as it was released right at the end of 2018, the same day as The Game Awards last year.

Fans can vote in these categories, and Control is another game with plenty of nominations. There are plenty of awards included in the show, celebrating Content Creator of the Year as well, and these nominees are Jack 'Courage' Dunlop, Benjamin 'Dr. Lupo' Lupo, Soleil 'Ewok' Wheeler, David 'Grefg' Martínez, and Michael 'Shroud' Grzesiek.

Esports also has its own selection of categories, and of course we can expect announcements and trailers at the show as well, just as we had last year with games like The Outer Worlds being unveiled.
