Daybreak Games is responsible for projects like PlanetSide Arena, having launched in Steam Early Access last month, but it turns out that they've made layoffs in the studio, as reported by Gamasutra.

"We are optimising our structure to ensure we best position ourselves for continued success in the years to come. This effort has required us to make some changes within the organisation and we are doing everything we can to support those impacted in this difficult time," the statement from Daybreak to Gamasutra reads.

"As we look to improve efficiencies and realign resources, we remain focused on supporting our existing games and development of our future titles."

We don't know the number of layoffs, but the report estimates it to be around 70 staff members. This isn't the first time we've heard about layoffs recently either, as there were several in April and December last year.

We wish those affected all the best.
