Dave Bautista wants to play GoW's Marcus Fenix

Universal has been hard at work on a film based on the Gears of War series for quite a while, and while no official updates have been provided, we now know that at least one prominent Hollywood actor wants to play the iconic Marcus Fenix - Dave Bautista, Drax the Destroyer himself.

Bautista has his roots in wrestling, but has come into fame in recent years through Guardians of the Galaxy and Blade Runner 2049. In an interview with GameSpot, Bautista describes playing the character as a "dream role".

"I've been pursuing Gears of War for years now,. I've been knocking on their door and badgering them, and they are so sick of me."
