Dave Bautista "tried everything" to join the Gears of War cast

Dave Bautista has had an interesting and impressive career, starting out as a beloved wrestler in the WWE (formerly WWF) in the late '90s before moving on to bigger things, eventually landing him the role of fan-favourite Drax in the Marvel series Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers. Bautista has, however, been eyeing a different role that he (and many others, us included) thinks he could ace, namely the role of Marcus Fenix in the upcoming Gears of War film.

On Twitter, fan RetroRhinoGames posted a plea to Hollywood, asking they'd green-light Bautista for the role, to which Bautista replied: "They're listening. And they could give AF! [eye-roll emoji].. but thank you for the support. Believe me when I say I've tried everything to make this happen".

Rod Fergusson has previously told IGN that he'd love for Bautista to pay the iconic character, but that the decision wasn't his to make.
