Phoenix Labs has just announced that its co-op action RPG Dauntless has entered open beta phase as of today. We "quite enjoyed our first excursion to the Shattered Isles" (as you can see in our preview) when we played the closed beta at PAX East, mainly thanks to its fluid combat, and we were looking forward to checking how deep the progression system could go.
Now potential Slayers can try and answer those questions with this public test, available to download on PC at the official webpage. Called "the indie Monster Hunter" in some circles, Dauntless is all about crafting gear and battling creatures (called Behemoths) across the aforementioned isles, and there's a science-fantasy story arch covering it all.
The full game will also be free-to-play, but as for the beta, you can check out a trailer below. Will you be giving this a go?
