Darkest Dungeon updated and delayed
The PC version gets new mechanic, while the PS4 version suffers a delay.
Red Hook Studios continues to support their challenging roguelike-like game after release, and a recent blog post really shows this.
Firstly, the PC version is finally getting Town Events. For those of you who don't know, Town Events "are designed to add variety to the Hamlet over the course of a campaign. Upon returning from an expedition, there is a chance for a thematic event to trigger in town - this functions akin to a deck of event cards."
Some of these events will be related to quests. The example they used was the All Saints Day celebration. After successfully completing the Ruins Gather Holy Relics Quest, players might trigger the All Saints Day celebration. This will send the Abbey into a zealous celebration that makes all treatments free for a week.
The update is set to launch in mid-to-late May.
There's also good news for Linux users, as the game now supports their platform.
Unfortunately they also have some bad news. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions won't launch before their planned "early summer" release. They want make sure the game "runs like butter" and plays great with a controller. This will take some extra time, so they've decided to delay those versions to late July or August.
