Darkest Dungeon has sold one million copies
Plus Red Hook Studios has another game on the way.
We thought Darkest Dungeon was pretty great (read our review to find out why), and it seems a lot of people thought the same, as a blog post on the game's site revealed one million copies of the game have been sold.
The reason Red Hook Studios are disclosing this is because they read an article from Yacht Club Games, makers of Shovel Knight, and appreciated how they were transparent about their own one million milestone. By doing the same, they claim to be continuing what they started.
There are a ton of facts, figures and statistics for those of you who like that sort of thing, but one statistic that might not be too shocking is the Steam makes up 94% of sales. The reason behind this, as explained in the post, is probably due to early access only being done on Steam and other versions being launched later.
They also revealed that the peak concurrent users occurred on the full release day on January 19, although that wasn't as high as the EA release.
Red Hook Studios also discussed a bit more about their plans for the future, revealing that modding support is coming and confirming that The Crimson Court DLC will be coming soon. They also have ideas to bring the game to tablets and other console and handheld devices, as well as a line of merchandise.
There's also a second game on the way, although Darkest Dungeon is still the highest priority, with the second game not even in production yet, so don't worry fans.
They of course thanked fans for their support too. Did Darkest Dungeon surprise you with how good it was?
