Miniatures and board game publisher CMON has announced that they've teamed up with CD Projekt Red to produce Cyerpunk 2077 - Afterlife: The Card Games, tying into CDPR's upcoming RPG.

This is being designed by Eric M. Lang and throws players into Night City as part of the first collaboration between the two companies, with "plans for more to follow" as well. Players become Fixers - "databrokers and masterminds in Night City who recruit cyberpunks, equip them with gear, and send them out on missions" - and you decide what cards you want to buy, and what you want to sell to get new ones.

Every successful mission raises the Street Cred of the players, and mission survivors become Veterans, giving knowledge and experience to newer recruits.

"I'm a huge fan of Cyberpunk and have played it since the first edition. I grew up playing the RPG and have kept up with the franchise through the years. Andrea Chiarvesio and I were beyond thrilled to work on it," Lang said.

"We have a big board game community at the studio, and we couldn't be happier to partner up with CMON. We love their games and are very excited to show the world our shared vision for a great card game in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe," said Rafał Jaki, Business Development Director at CD Projekt Red.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Afterlife: The Card Game will be released in 2020. Will you be playing this with your friends?
