Cadence of Hyrule - Crypt of the NecroDancer Feat. The Legend of Zelda

Crypt of the Necrodancer meets Zelda in Cadence of Hyrule

After opening with Cuphead, Nintendo closed its Nindies Showcase with a Zelda-themed surprise.

Link and Zelda are joining the Crypt of the Necrodancer family with Cadence of Hyrule, a Zelda-themed toe-tapping roguelike (we're assuming it's a roguelike based on our time with Crypt) that borrows the excellent rhythm mechanics from the original, and wraps it up in a Zelda theme that should appeal to a lot of people (us included).

The game will have procedurally-generated levels and players will be tasked with saving Hyrule as either Link or Princess Zelda, and they'll be able to do so using items from The Legend of Zelda series, as well as spells and weapons from Crypt, all to the tune of 25 remixed classic Zelda tunes.

If the new content set in Hyrule compares to the original, we should be in for an absolute treat when Brace Yourself Game's adventure lands on Nintendo Switch this spring.
