The ESL has confirmed that competitive Counter-Strike will be returning to Brazil later this year for an Intel Extreme Masters event. The tournament, IEM Rio, will be held in Rio de Janeiro at the Farmasi Arena between October 7-13. Tickets for the event will even go on sale as soon as this Friday.

This will mark the return of CS to the South American country, with the last time that an event was hosted there being back in April 2023. With this announcement in mind, competitive CS in 2024 will be hosting events in almost every continent, with Africa and Antarctica (obviously) being the only continents without a major event of some kind.

Will you be tuning into IEM Rio this October?
