The word on the street is that Sony might be about to surprise release No Man's Sky, with rumours circulating ahead of Paris Game Week. Sony's press conference is due to take place tomorrow evening at the Grand Arche de la Defénse at 4.45pm GMT/5.45pm CET, and according to sources close to VG247 the company are going to announce the imminent release of Hello Games' hugely anticipated procedurally-generated open-world space adventure.
While the PlayStation 4's sales continue to be healthy, Sony is clearly lacking a big exclusive to counter Xbox One's very strong holiday season. It's arguable that No Man's Sky might not be strong enough on its own, but then again Hello Games' project has been praised by media and players alike, and it could well be Sony's PS4 exclusive for the holiday season.
We're still marking this down as a rumour for now, especially after Sean Murray from Hello Games reacted to the reports over on Twitter, claiming specifically that it won't happen tomorrow, that being October 27.
The producer didn't elaborate, which may indicate that the launch could still happen in the coming days or weeks... just not tomorrow. Anyway, all of this should be filed as a rumour, one which will only be clarified during Sony's conference at Paris Games Week tomorrow.
