There's a Company of Heroes board game on the horizon after a Kickstarter campaign concluded today with the board game port attracting considerable investment from expectant players.
The campaign asked the crowd for just under £80k, but a month later the game has attracted more than £600k in pledges, with the game set to ship to backers next year (the predicted ship date is May 2020). The devs have promised a fog of war gameplay system, destructible buildings and an "elegant combat engine", and it can be played solo, or cooperatively and competitively by up to eight players.
You'll only be able to play it on pretty recent smartphones, however.
The RTS classic is already available on iPad since the beginning of the year.
The campaign has come to a close and the board game should ship in just under a year.
The game is 10 years on and still has an active community.
