Activision really split its gaming community when it revealed that we'd have to buy special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to get our hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Some of us ended up buying a special edition (and not just for some Infinite Warfare goodies...), while others refused.

Many of those who chose the latter expected the remaster to be sold separately after a few months. We didn't hear anything about that until rumours and leaks started popping up a few months ago, and now we finally have the confirmation.

Raven Software has finally announced that PlayStation 4 players can buy the standalone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered on June 27. Activision and Sony still have their special deals, so PC and Xbox One players will get it "at a later date". We're guessing this means the standard month of waiting.

This edition will include the campaign, all 16 multiplayer maps, and everything else that has been added since the game launched last year. Unfortunately, we're guessing another aspect of it won't be too popular, the price. The game will cost $40 (we'll confirm European prices when we have them), which is even more than many places takes for Infinite Warfare nowadays. It'll be very interesting to see if the price or long wait have changed patient minds, or if it'll sell like hotcakes. What's your opinion?
