Cloud9 was clearly not impressed enough with the performance of its League of Legends Championship Series roster following it failing to reach the mountaintop of the Spring Split, where it ultimately finished third. We say this as the esports team has now decided to part ways with its LoL head coach.

Alfonso "Mithy" Aguirre Rodríguez has been released from his duties with the team, and while C9 has yet to actually comment on this decision, Mithy has published a short statement on the matter.

"It hurts me to announce that C9 and I have parted ways. While the team failed to meet its expectations, I have nothing but love and respect for the organization and its players. It's been an exciting journey to be a part of c9 and feel the love and hate y'all bring as fans".

It's currently unclear who will be getting the head coaching job at C9, but no doubt we'll have confirmation on this front in the coming days/weeks.
