Late last year Crysis developer Crytek closed down five of its seven studios and one of them has now been reborn as a new, independent developer. Crytek Black Sea is now Black Sea Games, and on the official company website the developers state that they formed the studio in November 2016, one full month ahead of the December closure by owner Crytek.

The statement also declares that the developers miss the good ol' days and teases a new project that has been under development for some time now.

"Welcome to our home. Black Sea Games is a new game company, but we have been around for awhile. Recently we realised we missed the 'old times', the good old core-gaming, the sleepless nights spent solving that quest or defeating the next enemy on the map, while at the same time working hard during the small hours to quickly add another great feature to our own game. Well, this is how Black Sea Games was born... again! Look around, subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on the Web. Thank you!"

"Black Sea Games Ltd. is an independent game development company based in Sofia, Bulgaria, founded in November 2016. Our mission is to create hard-core games that will entertain you over and over again. We believe the best gaming experiences are coming from challenging the players with meaningful choices, while giving them the freedom to create (and share) their own in-game stories."

Are you excited to see what Black Sea Games can produce?

REVIEW. Written by Jonas Mäki

"Forget waiting for the next generation of graphics to appear: they're here already, and that we can thank Crytek for."
