All the way back in November, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 developers Treyarch announced that it would be bringing mod support to the PC version of that game. Today, that process has reached an important milestone, as Treyarch has begun sending out invites to select modders for a closed alpha test of the upcoming mod tools.
The modding tools will allow modders to build new maps and make other changes to the game. After the closed alpha is done, Treyarch plans to further tweak the tools and then make them available to all in an open beta.
Black Ops 3 is the first Call of Duty game to have mod support since Call of Duty: World at War, which came out in 2008.
