There is currently a live-action game show in the works based on popular mobile game Candy Crush. CBS, Lionsgate Television and King are joining together to bring one of the most played mobile games of all time to television to be broadcast on the CBS network.

Produced by Matt Kunitz, who previously produced The Real World and Fear Factor, the show will see two teams of people use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards, bringing the game to life.

"The Candy Crush franchise lends itself perfectly to the kind of larger-than-life, physical game shows that I love to produce and CBS is the perfect home for it," said executive producer Matt Kunitz. "As a Candy Crush Saga player myself, I am excited to amp up the action and visuals in our huge Candy Crush Arena."

Not matter how you feel about Candy Crush it cannot be denied how popular the game has been over the years converting many people who would not have ever played a video-game into hardened fans. It seems CBS entertainment recognised this and are apparently fans of the game themselves.

"We are huge fans of Candy Crush and, like so many others, we know the 'rush' of advancing to the next level of the game," said Glenn Geller, President, CBS Entertainment. "We're excited to work with Lionsgate and King to adapt one of the world's most popular and entertaining game franchises for television and make it available to its massive, passionate fan base who can watch and play along at home."

So it seems like King, who was acquired by Activision Blizzard in February 2016, is about to invade popular culture again with its Candy Crush series and who knows this could be the next TV sensation.
