A little while ago, it was reported that various entries in Techland's Call of Juarez series had been pulled from digital outlets. Now the Polish developer (and publisher) has revealed that the rights for the franchise has indeed reverted back to them from original publisher Ubisoft. Furthermore, the most recent entry, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is back on sale on Steam at a discount.

Via press release, Adam Lasoń, CPO at Techland Publishing, had the following message to convey:

"Developed by Techland, the Call of Juarez series received a great reception and support from a huge community of players. As Techland Publishing moves forward as a leading publisher, we are delighted to welcome Call of Juarez: Gunslinger to our publishing division. We would like to thank Ubisoft for its incredible work publishing the Call of Juarez games. We'll continue the great efforts of Ubisoft and support the fans of the Call of Juarez universe in the same dutiful and passionate way."

Techland said that details on the availability of other entries in the series will be revealed at a later date, but presumably, it's being worked on. It doesn't sound unreasonable to assume Techland might have plans for a new game in the series either...

REVIEW. Written by Jonas Mäki

"The six hour long adventure is just the right size for a digital treat, and Gunslinger is somewhat liberating in its old school approach."
