Call of Cthulhu

Call of Cthulhu "speaks about the unspeakable"

We got the pitch from Romain Wiart at E3.

Cyanide Studio's Call of Cthulhu is an interesting game that's all about intrigue and mystery, and when we spoke to lead level designer Romain Wiart at E3 about what we can expect, it turns out that there's more than just your usual horror affair here.

"It's a game about investigation, strong narrative, and of course the kind of horror that is very centred on the work of HP Lovecraft," he explained. "We speak about the unspeakable. It's not the kind of horror where you have jumpscares and creatures to fight. It's about sanity; the more you get closer to the middle of Cthulhu the more you lose your sanity, so everything becomes blurry, you don't know if things are real or not, and that's the main things about our Lovecraftian universe."

Does this intrigue you? If so, you can always watch the full interview below.

REVIEW. Written by Bengt Lemne

"There's not a great deal of these sort of genre-mixing horror adventures out there and with an intriguing narrative that truly oozes of Lovecraft it pulled us in from start to finish."
