Former Bungie lead writer Joseph Staten has joined Microsoft it was revealed by Xbox Studio Manager Mike Ybarra on Twitter:

"Thrilled to welcome back Joe Staten to the Microsoft Studios family. #XboxOne"

Staten left Bungie last September having been one of the key people involved with creating the Destiny universe, and prior to this he worked on Halo titles, the cancelled Peter Jackson project and wrote Halo: Contact Harvest. While it would be natural for Staten to join 343 Industries it seems he'll have wider responsibilities as senior creative director.

"As a senior creative director, Joseph will help create the world's best entertainment on Xbox, as well as help shape our franchise strategy for some Microsoft Studios titles."

"He'll also be one of our leading ambassadors to the game development community, building on his many years of experience and relationships with developers and fans. We're excited to share more about Joseph's role in the future."
