When Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition was announced last week, some questioned whether it would be possible for PC players to get a free upgrade, since that has been the case with other remasters in the past such as Skyrim. In fact, one Twitter user called Rob Dagg tweeted Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford directly to ask the question: "Will owners of Bulletstorm on PC who have it on Steam be given the upgraded version for free or at least heavily discounted?"

Randy Pitchford responded as follows: "Not possible - completely different publisher, era, platform (they were Games for Windows only), product/sku, etc," after which followed a number of tweets such as "you just can't stop lying, can you", to which Pitchford also responded: "I don't believe I am lying, but I could be mistaken. That said, if you want a discount, pre-ordering now offers that."

Some users compared this case to that of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, and Pitchford also responded to these tweets, saying: "Different situation. Nordic bought all past-future rights of that. We don't own any of this - just helping PCF" and "Nordic bought entire rights past-future from a defunct publisher. This is a very different situation."

Regardless of the reason, PC users won't be getting the remaster for free unfortunately. Do you think the reasons are justifiable?
