Brigandine: Abyss Brings the classic strategy RPG series back for a third round

After 22 long years, the PlayStation 1 role-playing game Brigandine: The Legend of Forsena got a sequel in 2020 called Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia. And apparently it has been a success, because overnight a third Brigandine title has been announced.

It's called Brigandine: Abyss and will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series S/X later this year. Just like before, it's a strategy RPG where you move your units around on a grid (made up of hexagons). The developers promise "six new story campaigns," and you'll also be able to "take control of any one of the twenty-four nations in Mission Mode."

Publisher NIS America boasts that several heavyweights have been involved in the development, including Masayuki Horikawa (Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance) as Supervisor, Rei Kondoh (Okami, Bayonetta, Fire Emblem: Three Houses) as composer, and Junko Kawano (Suikoden series, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes) as character designer.
