The Boston Uprising, alike a lot of Overwatch League rosters, is hard at work rebuilding for the 2022 season. As part of this re-construction, the Uprising has signed an individual to the team, who is actually making a homecoming, after originally starting his OWL career with Boston a few years ago.
Namju "STRIKER" Gwon is returning to Boston after a lengthy tenure on the San Francisco Shock where he was part of the roster that took two back-to-back championships. During his time on the Shock, Striker was also credited as the Playoffs MVP in 2020, further building on his success in the competitive Overwatch scene.
Revealed in a blog post by the Uprising, the team's president Chris "HuK" Loranger stated, "I am very happy to welcome STRIKER back to the Boston Uprising. He was an instrumental part of our success during the inaugural season, and I am confident he will bring the same explosive play along with a true championship pedigree."
We'll have to wait to see if the Uprising also intends to bring back any other members of its 2018 roster, as it completes its rebuild ahead of the new season.
