Borderlands 3's Promethea gets a planet profile

It's a futuristic city turned into a warzone, where hostile creatures and mechanised soldiers roam the streets.

The official Twitter account for Borderlands 3 has provided a short video detailing the planet of Promethea, a metropolis that's home to the Atlas corporation, except it's under siege by Maliwan, meaning that the futuristic urban cityscape is now a "brutal warzone".

We get more details on this planet via Borderlands' site, where we can also get a glimpse into all the other planets. Highlights of the area include the Atlas Campus, Titan Skyway, and Meridian Seaport, and as you can see from the images below, it's got a bit of a cyberpunk feel about it (and no, not the CD Projekt Red game).

In the streets its anything but a utopia though, as Maliwan's mechanised infantry roams the streets alongside the Ratches, a rodent/insect hybrid species in the sewers and alleys. Children of the Vault see this as a chance to recruit the unhappy citizens, and all of this spells bad news for Atlas CEO Rhys Strongfork.

Just this month we received the So Happy Together trailer for the game, but during the tease for this trailer Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford informed us that cross-play would not be present at launch, although it's planned to arrive after release.

Do you like the look of Promethea?

REVIEW. Written by Kieran Harris

"We found ourselves desperate to complete each side quest we encountered just to make sure we didn't miss out on any of the gags."
