Borderlands 3 will not be the last game in the series

Gearbox Software's Borderlands will live on after the upcoming third instalment in the series' release.

Gearbox Software's anticipated looter-shooter Borderlands 3 is coming out on September 13th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can check out our E3 impressions about the game right here.

DualShockers recently had a chance to interview Borderlands 3 lead writers Danny Homan and Sam Winkler. According to Homan, Borderlands 3 may be considered the final game in the current story of Borderlands, but that "there is always room for more story in Borderlands", and "[Borderlands 3] definitely isn't the end of Borderlands in any way".

It is clear that the future of Borderlands is depending on sales of Borderlands 3, and 2K Games' expectations for stellar sales are high.
