I love Days of Thunder. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. When I now read that Cruise is getting ready for a sequel, I am both happy and a little puzzled. If you wanted to make a two, why wasn't this done 20 years ago, when Tony Scott was still alive? A shame, of course. Because there is a lot of Tony brilliance in this movie along with brilliant acting from Cruise, Kidman, Duvall, Elwes, Rooker...
I looked at a newly made podcast last week where Cary Elwes (Russ Wheeler) was a guest and there he talked specifically about how Tony Scott, Bruckheimer (producer) and screenwriter Robert Towne wrote the script in the evenings and then filmed what they wrote, the next day. There was apparently no script (at all) when filming started. Despite this, it ended up being one of the best action smokers of the 90s. That's where we're talking skillz.
If they're going to make a second one, I hope Cruise has the good taste to use the same team that made Top Gun: Maverick. Cole Trickle deserves it.
Conny was right, it was superb. I'm of course talking about Disney's new documentary about the world's greatest film composer of all time - John Williams. I saw it yesterday and even though I've always been a favorite of John (I've written the music for The Shark, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and Superman - Are you the best. Forever) but it will of course become even clearer in this documentary how sharp this old man has been over the years. Absolutely crushing world's best. The best in the documentary was the portion where Spielberg had added "generic horror music" in his first "rough cut" of Jaws and wanted John to try to end up in the same place, musically. John answered "never" and wrote pirate music instead. Haha. Decent hardy. Watch it.
The founder of Koenigsegg London® (JWW) has of course participated in the recent Ghost Squadron Tour 2024 where 35-40 Swedish hypercarts are wheeled around on fun "driver's roads" and luckily James gets to test drive the new CC850 for the first time. That augment gearbox honestly seems completely absurd, of course it has to be seen. Go!
The Retro Leaderboards in The top five that we have rolled out for full mugs over the past two months have been as fun to put together as they have been popular among those of you who read. Of course, we think that's great fun. Ten minutes ago I rolled out Jonas' Nintendo DS leaderboard and at the same time I thought I'd summarize, put all the links in the same post.
If I were Croesus Vole®, incomprehensibly snotty, bathed in cash... Would I buy three watches from the German manufacturer A. Lange & Söhne. Because they are the "end goal" for a collector like yours truly. Dream. That incomprehensible, unreasonable dream that will never come true. Now Lange has also just rolled out four limited tributes to the original model Lange 1 and the navy blue in rose gold, is so nice that I get severe cramps in my thoracic spine. Here you have to crouch! Read more here!
