Blizzard recently decided to make StarCraft II a free-to-play title, and the studio is using the controversy that has engulfed Star Wars Battlefront II as a chance to raise the profile of its RTS offering.

Those keeping an ear close to the ground in the last couple of weeks will no doubt have noted the backlash over the length of time EA and DICE originally wanted players to spend unlocking the most desirable hero characters (such as Darth Vader), causing the publisher to relent and make significant changes to the game.

Using these events to publicise its own title, Blizzard has reminded players on Twitter that the situation is very different in regards to StarCraft II. Here are the cheeky posts made by Blizzard's social team:

"Number of hours it takes to earn the full StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Campaign: 0"

"Number of hours before you can play ANY Co-op Commander in StarCraft II: 0"

"Number of pay-to-win mechanics in StarCraft II: 0"
