Blizzard announced on their official forums that they have banned a large number of players from World of Warcraft, players who were caught using unauthorised programs (usually referred to as "bots") to gain several advantages in the game. This action goes against the terms of use of World of Warcraft, allowing Blizzard to ban these players for six months. "Cheating of any form will not be tolerated," reads the official website.

Kotaku have since gained access to a conversation with a Game Master, Blizzard employees that interact with the players within the game itself, where it is mentioned that Blizzard have banned over 100,000 accounts as a result of this. An impressive number, considering World of Warcraft currently has 7 million paying subscribers.
