There have been more guest characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate than any other installment in the long-running series, and after Blizzard's announcement that Overwatch is going to be released for Nintendo Switch on October 15, a lot of fans started to speculate that an Overwatch hero might be added to Ultimate. While Nintendo still hasn't said anything about this possibility, Blizzard has been more vocal.
The company really doesn't seem to mind guest characters, and here's what Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan had to say to IGN regarding this subject:
"To the Smash Brothers team, whatever character you want, we love them all. They're all our babies, you can have any single one of them. We have 31 to choose from."
There is one particular character Kaplan would like to see in Super Smash Bros Ultimate though, and you can likely guess who.
"Tracer's our girl, Tracer's our mascot. She'd be my first choice," he said. "There's a lot of great runners up. I think a lot of people can immediately see Doomfist gameplay applying to Smash, but if it were up to me, I'd like to see Tracer."
While this would be an excellent choice, we think that it should be someone from a different franchise heading to Smash Bros. - and that is someone from The Lost Vikings. This was originally released for Super Nintendo back in 1993, developed by Silicon & Synapse, who later became Blizzard. The last time we saw the trio of Vikings was in Heroes of the Storm too, which is Blizzard's own mashup of characters.
Who would your ideal Blizzard guest character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate be?
