TechRaptor reports that Bioware Montreal, responsible for Mass Effect: Andromeda that launched back in March, has been merged with EA Motive, led by former Ubisoft executive Jade Raymond.

A statement released to TechRaptor reads as follows:

"The teams in EA Worldwide Studios are packed with talent, and more than ever, we're driving collaboration between studios on key projects. With multiple major projects in development in Montreal, we are merging BioWare Montreal with Motive Studios. This is an ongoing process, but there are many exciting roles and opportunities for everyone on the team.

BioWare continues its work on new titles - including the highly-anticipated game, Anthem. What's coming next for BioWare is very exciting, and we're thrilled to have Casey Hudson returning to lead the studios in Edmonton and Austin."

It certainly does sound like Bioware Montreal is no more and that the team will now work on other projects at EA Motive (who are co-operating with Visceral Games on the Amy Hennig directed Star Wars title among other things). Presumably they will still support Mass Effect: Andromeda to some extent, but it does lend creedence to reports that more ambitious plans for expansions have been shelved.

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"There's enough of the series' DNA in there that fans will find this a worthwhile adventure."
