Bill Gates on Gears of War: "I love that chainsaw"

When Epic was creating their monster hit Gears of War, there was a lot of things that could have ended up very differently - from another setting to a romance, a different storyline, other names and so on. It was also not a certainty Microsoft would be willing to pour money over this new IP that would go on to headline much of the early days of Xbox 360.

DidYouKnowGaming has done their homework on Gears of War and posted an interesting clip with several juicy nuggets. One of them was that the former Xbox boss Peter Moore wanted to remove the gruesome chainsaw action from the first E3 demo of the game, something that surely would have lessened the impact of the demonstration.

Epic fortunately kept the chainsaw in the demo, and it was later revealed that Bill Gates was a huge fan of it. According to the source, he said: "I love that chainsaw"
