At this point, it feels as though we have reported on 100s of event cancellations due to Covid-19 and it never ceases to feel like a punch to the gut. Beyond the Summit has just added to the mounting disappointment of 2020, as it has cancelled its remaining physical Smash Bros. tournaments for the rest of the year.

The events confirmed to be cancelled by the event organiser are Smash Ultimate Summit 3, Mainstage 2020, and Crossover Summit.

Beyond the Summit confirmed the news on Twitter, stating: "As the year has progressed, we have eagerly awaited the opportunity to confirm our days for Ultimate Summit 3, Mainstage 2020, and Crossover Summit. Unfortunately, in the light of the continuing pandemic, we have decided to cancel our remaining live Smash events for 2020."

Are you, like us, disappointed by this recent development?

Thanks, Dot Esports.
