Before the launches of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite took the world by storm, there were a few games experimenting with Battle Royale experiences. The Culling was one such title, and it offered third-person melee-centric combat set in a game show like free-for-all environment.
The first game went under the radar of many and was eventually smothered by the success of more popular genre offerings, which is why it's a bit of surprise to hear that The Culling 2 is not only in the works, but it's releasing today.
Developer Xaviant seems to have double down on its unique take on the genre, building on the melee combat but with a greater emphasis on gunplay, plus the studio has added more players to the mix (now up to 50) alongside some refreshed features such as improved ballistics and perks.
The second entry in this burgeoning series is heading to PC, PS4, and Xbox One today (July 10). Check out the new launch trailer below and let us know what you think.
