The Danish esports organisation, Astralis has announced that it will be the latest major esports team to exit the competitive Rainbow Six: Siege space. As stated in a blog post, Astralis will be leaving the circuit due to the changes in the league agreement, which Astralis has stated has "deteriorated significantly" and does not promote the right condition for "running a healthy team organisation in Rainbow 6".

Speaking about the leaving the scene, Astralis' CEO, Anders Hørsholt added:

"We entered into Rainbow 6 and the North American League with high ambitions and the best of intentions, and our US organisation has done everything humanly possible to meet these ambitions. However, despite the dedicated and extremely loyal efforts of everybody involved, the development and lack of prospects in the league regrettably make it impossible for us to continue."

He continued: "It has been truly amazing to feel the passion for the game among the fans and everybody involved, and we have turned every stone to find a way to continue operations. This includes an open and constructive dialogue with Ubisoft, during which all parties were looking for possible ways to move forward.

"We appreciate all the efforts made, but unfortunately, we did not find a solution where we could continue operations while meeting our obligations and standards regarding working conditions for our staff and players."

This comes after Astralis actually made a serious impact at the Six Invitational 2023, with the team managing to wrap up the tournament fourth overall.

"It's in competitive multiplayer where the game shines. The matches are short, intense and always surprising."
