Aston Martin still believes that there is a space in the market for hearty and powerful V12 combustion engines. Despite the wave of electrified cars, the British car making icon has announced a new V12 engine, one that is said to be marking the start of a new V12 powered era for the brand.

"The V12 engine has long been a symbol of power and prestige, but it is also a statement of engineering passion and technical prowess," said Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer Roberto Fedeli. "With 835PS and 1000Nm of torque this unparalleled engine represents nothing less than the dawn of a dazzling new V12 era for Aston Martin."

As Fedeli notes, the engine will have an output of 835 horsepower, and will use a new design style that is said to target performance and efficiency. This will all be achieved with various new elements, such as reprofiled camshafts, higher flowrate fuel injectors, new intake and exhaust ports, repositioned spark plugs, strengthened cylinder block and conrods, and redesigned cylinder heads.

As for where we will first see this engine in action, it will be featured in "Aston Martin's most exclusive and limited availability models" such as a "new flagship model" that is expected to make its debut later this year.
