US movie studio Fox has dated their cinematic adaptation of Ubisoft's gaming series, Assassin's Creed. The movie is set to star Michael Fassbender and will be directed by Justin Kurzel according to Hollywood Reporter. The movie is set to land in cinemas on December 21, 2016, at least in the U.S., but there's no word on when it'll appear in European theatres.
Correction: It was suggested in the original news that the film would be releasing around the same time as the new Star Wars movie, which is in fact not true, as that film is due out at the end of this year, 2015. The 2016 movie is actually a rumoured spin-off set in the Star Wars universe.
