For those who do not know Asmodee Digital, it's a studio specialised in the conversion of board games into digital production. Now, the company announces that it will start providing games for Nintendo's hybrid console starting with five games listed here: Carcassonne, The Lord of the Rings: Living Card Game, Pandemic, Catan and Munchkin. Carcassone is due out this winter, while the others are expected in 2019. The game based on Munchkin won't be a standard adaptation of the board game but rather a dungeon crawler.
Through this new collaboration, Asmodee Digital seeks to reach a new audience while exploiting the particularities of the console, as Philippe Dao, Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer explains:
"Bringing our most popular titles to new platforms is a no-brainer, but we're going a step above to make sure they are optimized for Nintendo Switch," said Philippe Dao, CMO of Asmodee Digital. "The new audiences that await us on this platform are clear to us, and we're glad to offer them the best of board games."
Until then, their productions were mostly reserved for PCs and mobiles, so it will be interesting to see how they can leverage the possibilities offered by the Switch.
