Hapa Games announced today that Ascendant, which is now available on PC, will not meet its original August 25 release date on PS4. Those interested in the beat'em up will now have to wait until September 8 for the PS4 version. Hapa acknowledged that the reason for the delay is due to a large influx of "big games" coming between late August and early September:
"Ascendant would likely be buried underneath all of those games so moving the release date gives us the best chance to get the game in front of players."
As for the game itself, it mixes platforming and action in a 2D environment, with several roguelike design features, including permanent death and procedurally generated environments. If you're interested, but would prefer to check out the PC version, you can do so here.
