Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel has been revealed by EA.

Old characters Salem and Rios have both been benched, and Visceral Games (of Dead Space fame) has been signed up to develop the title (replacing EA Montreal - also benched), as the series looks to reboot and become a more mature IP.

Dice's Frost Byte 2 Engine is powering the title, ensuring that the graphics will be of a decent standard. Expect plenty of gritty dust storms and explosive action as new characters Alpha and Bravo embark on an adventure in Mexico, taking on the drug cartels and having bro-moments whilst under heavy gunfire.

The announced game was expected to push multiplayer beyond the traditional two player experience, but it has been revealed that there is to be no four player co-op feature in the latest game in the series.

Visceral's Julian Beak said: "We wanted to refresh the Army Of Two franchise for a new generation of action gamers, and at the same time, stay true to the core concept that really made the first two games fan favourites."

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel is set for a release next March, and will appear on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. We await more details and will update you when we have them.
