During a presentation at an event for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and all things related to the Deus Ex universe (that you can read more about here) we may have caught a tantalising glimpse of the future of the series and a possible indication of just how committed Square Enix is to growing the franchise.

One of the slides in the presentation focused on the timeline of events in the Deus Ex universe, placing box covers in chronological order from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: The Fall, Deus Ex GO, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. After the upcoming title there was a short gap and then, at the end, Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Invisible War.

It was what was in that gap that caught our eye, because there, for all to see, were two more box covers. Yes they were both blurred out with no title in sight, but they were still there nonetheless.

So what does this mean exactly? Are there two more Deus Ex titles planned or already in production? Maybe another iPad title in the vein of Deus Ex: The Fall, or maybe a mobile or browser tie-in to link to or follow the main game that's launching in August?

Right now we simply don't know. We've reached out to Square Enix for comment and will update you with their response.
