We first played Gabe Cuzzillo's promising zoo escape title Ape Out at PAX East 2017 and at that time the game was expected to release later that year, but time went by and we've been waiting to hear more about the fun and different action-puzzler. Now, publisher Devolver Digital and Cuzzillo have revealed that Ape Out will arrive on PC and Nintendo Switch on February 7, next year. While nothing was said of potential PS4 and Xbox One versions, we expect those to happen at a later date.
The basic premise of the game is to guide your ape out of a labyrinth full of armed guards that need to be taken out in various violent ways, but obviously, as a primate, you don't come packing a gun. The perspective is part of the concept as the tall walls of the labyrinth provide an extra challenge. The game also has a seductive and adaptive soundtrack courtesy of Matt Boch and art by Bennett Foddy.
Are you up for some monkey business come February 7?
