Angry Birds movie is moving ahead

Co-directors assigned for the project as feature film will debut in July 2016.

Angry Birds has certainly proved to be more than just a passing craze and Rovio Entertainment have shown a lot of vision as they've expanded the entertainment property beyond its physics-based puzzler origins.

Deadline Hollywood reports that Disney vet, Clay Kaytis (who worked on the animation in Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph) and Sony's Fergal Reilly (storyboard artist on Hotel Transylvania and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) will co-direct the 3D movie starring the lovely birds and the dastardly pigs.

"I'm very excited that Fergal and Clay have joined us, bringing with them their vast expertise," said Rovio Entertainment CEO Mikael Hed and promised that the movie would see a worldwide premiere on July 1, 2016.
