Harmonix have announced a release date for Amplitude on PlayStation Blog, and players can expect the beats to drop early next year, January 5th to be exact. At least on PS4, but the announcement doesn't say anything about PS3's version. At this point we can't tell if it's cancelled or not.

The original Amplitude was released in 2003 for PS2, but Harmonix wanted to reboot the series. And so they did, with the help of some Kicstarter backers. In fact, backers who contributed $40 or more will have Early Access from December 23rd (Christmas comes early it would seem).

The reboot will include upgraded visuals, sci-fi narrative and of course new songs. The game will have both single player and local multiplayer for both competitive and co-operative players.

Have a look at the newest trailer below, and under it you can also find all the songs featured in the game.
