All Xbox One controllers will work with Project Scarlett

The hardware might be pushing boundaries, but it's backwards compatible with every controller you own for the current Xbox.

During E3, Microsoft revealed that Project Scarlett would be backwards compatible not only with games, but with peripherals as well. Unfortunately, this didn't get a whole lot of attention (as it was E3 and featured in a conference where Keanu Reeves showed up), and the message wasn't entirely clear either whether the peripherals included the original Xbox and/or stuff from Xbox One.

We do know one thing for sure though, as Product/Marketing Manager for Xbox accessories at Microsoft, James Shields, replied to a question on Twitter on the topic if all Xbox One controllers works on Xbox Scarlett, saying:

"Yep - all Xbox One controllers!"

That settles that, and perhaps you'll want to use a Series 2 Xbox Elite controller? If so, then be sure to check out our unboxing of the product right here.

Are you relieved to hear this?
