There was a special surprise guest during a livestream marathon hosted by British Youtuber Hbomberguy (aka Harry Brewis), which took place this weekend in order to help raise funds for an organisation called Mermaids, a charity which supports gender diverse and transgender children and their families.

During the marathon on Twitch, which was dedicated to Donkey Kong 64 because Hbomberguy had never completed the game as a kid, US politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) flagged the initiative on Twitter and even joined in the chat on Discord (and there was also a cameo appearance from Doom co-creator John Romero).

After a pleasant chat, which also included discussion about the current situation in the US where the government is in shutdown, it turned out by the end of Sunday evening that Brewis had raised $340,000 for charity, no doubt in part thanks to the contribution of the US congresswoman. It was also surprising for the charity with Mermaids, which later confirmed even more celebrity endorsements had followed.
