Two weeks after Battleborn's launch, Gearbox has today announced the first of five new playable characters, the warrior-monk healer Alani.
Alani will be available on May 31 on all platforms (PC, PS4 and Xbox One), and can be unlocked for 47,500 in-game credits. The owners of the Digital Deluxe edition and the Season Pass can unlock Alani using a Hero Key and they can start using her from Tuesday, May 24. Here's a brief description:
A member of the Eldrid faction who was raised as a healer, but forced to be a warrior, Alani is all that remains of her order after Rendain's Jennerit Imperium stole the oceans from her world. As a warrior from a planet with vast seas, Alani's attacks and abilities revolve around her power to control water to dish out pain, or heal her fellow Battleborn. Check back on May 24th for her full reveal and in the meantime, here's a first-look at Alani fully rendered in-game.
In addition to this, starting from today at 17 CET/16 GMT until Wednesday, May 25 at 17 CET/16 GMT, all Battleborn players will get Double XP across all Story Mode missions and Competitive Multiplayer matches. This event is global and it'll be available on all platforms.
